Job summary

AdventHealth in Kansas is seeking a Surgical Technologist for day shifts in a full-time role. You will prepare sterile fields, pass instruments, and support the surgical team during procedures. The position requires strong sterile technique, attention to detail, and the ability to respond to emergencies.

Qualifications include high school graduation, formal technical/vocational training, and CST certification or equivalent. BLS is required; 2+ years' experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates knowledge of sterile technique, instrumentation, equipment, and sterile field setup.
• Knows sterilization techniques and validates readiness for surgeries.
• Capable of recognizing and responding to emergencies in the OR.
• Publicly demonstrates ability to organize, promote, and conduct unit in-services.
• Proficient in at least two surgical specialties (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Checks supplies and equipment needed for surgical procedures.
• Scrubs, gowns, and gloves for procedures and sets up sterile table.
• Performs instrument passing and aids surgeon during operations.
• Maintains sterile technique and prepares dressings and instruments for terminal sterilization.
• Assists with room cleaning and prep for the next patient.
