Job summary

Edina Plastic Surgery is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist to support safe, efficient, and high-quality surgical care. You will prepare the operating room, maintain sterile technique, and assist surgeons and perioperative staff throughout each procedure.

The role requires an Associate degree in Surgical Technology, CST certification, and current BLS, with opportunities for advancement and ongoing competency development.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Surgical Technology or closely related field.
• Certification as a Surgical Technologist or ability to obtain within six months of hire.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Demonstrated understanding of sterile technique, infection prevention, and operating room safety.
• Ability to learn first assisting, suturing, and circulating responsibilities within approved scope.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating room, equipment, implants, medications, and supplies for scheduled procedures.
• Verify readiness by reviewing schedules and requirements; ensure proper equipment is available.
• Maintain sterile field and adhere to infection prevention standards throughout procedures.
• Assist with instrument counts, tissue handling, and specimen processing as directed.
• Support patient positioning, draping, and intraoperative documentation; communicate needs to surgical team.
• Stock, decontaminate, sterilize, and distribute instruments; manage instrument inventory.
