Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist (PRN) to support the operating room team under the Nurse Manager. You will prepare sterile supplies, assist with room duties, and work autonomously within a collaborative surgical team to ensure patient safety and efficient procedures.

Requirements include CST certification, current CPR, and 2 years OR experience or equivalent training; position is hourly and part-time with 12 scheduled hours weekly.

Qualifications

• Credentialed Surgical Technologist (CST) required and current CPR/BLS certification.
• Two years of operating room technician experience preferred; formal surgical technology training accepted.
• Education and certification comparable to ACCS/4-year programs in surgical technology.

Responsibilities

• Prepare sterile supplies and equipment for surgical procedures.
• Assist with room duties and patient care as part of the operating room team.
• Maintain sterile field integrity and coordinate instrument handling with the surgical team.
• Support exposure, hemostasis, closure, and intraoperative technical functions as directed.
