HCA Florida North Florida Hospital in Gainesville is seeking a Certified Cardiovascular Surgical Technologist to join its cardiac surgery team. You’ll work with advanced equipment and a skilled team to support open heart procedures and patient care from setup to completion.

You will scrub in, hand instruments, assist the surgeon, monitor equipment, and help maintain a sterile field. On-call coverage and clear growth pathways are provided.

Qualifications

• CV Surgical Tech role; requires BLS within 30 days of start.
• TS-C (Tech in Surgery - Certified) or CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) certification.
• Previous Open Heart experience required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and organize the surgical suite with instruments, equipment, and supplies for safe, efficient procedures.
• Transport, position, prep, and drape patients while protecting comfort, privacy, and safety.
• Scrub in and assist the surgeon by providing instruments, handling specimens, and anticipating team needs.
• Monitor equipment and patient status during procedures; take quick, effective action when needed.
• Maintain a sterile field, ensure thorough room turnover, and contribute to a high-performing team culture.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing and organizing the surgical suite with the right instruments, equipment, and supplies to ensure safe, efficient procedures
• Supporting patients with transport, positioning, prepping, and draping while protecting their comfort, privacy, and safety
• Scrubbing in and assisting the surgeon by providing instruments, handling specimens, and anticipating the needs of the team
• Monitoring equipment and patient status throughout procedures, taking quick, effective action when needed
• Maintaining a sterile field, ensuring thorough room turnover, and contributing to a collaborative, high-performing team culture

What qualifications you will need:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Vocational School Graduate
• (TS-C) Tech in Surgery - Certified, or (CST) Certified Surgical Technologist
• Previous Open Heart experience required
