Sign-On for Eligible New Hires

Work Location: Texas Health Plano - 6200 W. Parker Rd, Plano, TX 75093

Schedule: Fulltime | 40 Hours/week | Mid-Shift | 30 minutes call-back, On-call and weekends required. Must be available for at least, 1 week of system training at 612 E Lamar Blvd, Arlington, TX 76011

Here's What You Need:

1. High School Diploma or equivalent required (and was employed to practice surgical technology in a health care facility before September 1, 2009) OR
2. Graduate of an accredited surgery technology program, Vocational Nurse Program or graduate/completion of a military training program in surgical technology required upon hire
3. Graduate of an accredited surgery technology program, Vocational Nurse Program or graduate/completion of a military training program in surgical technology preferred upon hire
4. Other- CLIAFE Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency required
5. One year current Operating Room (OR) experience preferred
6. Must live within a 30 mile on-call drive
7. CST - Certified Surgical Technologist graduate of an accredited surgical tech program Upon Hire Required Or
8. CST - Certified Surgical Technologist and was employed to practice surgical technology in a health care facility before September 1, 2009 Upon Hire Required Or
9. CST - Certified Surgical Technologist graduate/completion of a military training program in surgical technology 2 years Required Or
10. LVN - Licensed Vocational Nurse Upon Hire Required And
11. BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Upon Hire Required
12. A high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, acceptable grooming practices and ability to function in a fast-paced, changing environment.

What You Will Do:

1. Intra-operatively displays skills and behavior conducive to desirable outcome.
2. Nursing Process: Assists in providing peri-operative care for a patient population that includes Infants, Pediatrics, Adults, and Geriatrics. Preoperatively assists R.N. circulator in formulating plan of care.
3. Professional accountability: Assists as needed in coordinating patient care peri-operatively and assumes responsibility and accountability for behavior in order to maintain standards for professional nursing practice.
4. Post-operatively follows proper procedures for care of instruments, supplies and equipment. Under supervision, assists RN circulator with post-operative duties.
5. Infection Prevention: Assists in the delivering of nursing care in a manner that minimizes the risk of transfer of infection and accidental contamination.
6. Safety: Assists in delivering care in a manner which protects the patient from injury.
7. Continuous Improvement: Care is provided with an emphasis on continually improving quality, service and cost effectiveness.
