Job summary

Saint Alphonsus Health System in Boise, Idaho is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to join our Day Surgery Center. This full‑time, fully benefited role supports a wide range of outpatient procedures and collaborates with a dedicated surgical team.

You will maintain sterile technique, prepare the environment, assist with cases, and contribute to a culture of excellence, compassion, and innovation that guides every patient encounter.

Qualifications

• Current CST certification through NBSTSA or OR
• Tech in Surgery–Certified (TS-C) through NCCT
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers required

Responsibilities

• Prepare the surgical environment and ensure instruments and supplies are ready and functioning.
• Anticipate needs and assist physicians and staff during procedures.
• Maintain sterile technique and safety standards throughout cases.
• Communicate clearly with the surgical team and supervisors.
• Assist with room turnover and equipment maintenance to support workflow.

What You’ll Do

As a CST within the Saint Alphonsus Health System, you will:

• Prepare the surgical environment and ensure all instruments, equipment, and supplies are available and functioning.
• Support physicians and surgical staff by anticipating needs throughout the procedure.
• Maintain strict adherence to sterile technique and safety standards.
• Communicate clearly and effectively with the surgical team and supervisory staff.
• Contribute to a smooth workflow by organizing supplies, assisting with room turnover, and ensuring all equipment is properly maintained.
• Demonstrate the Saint Alphonsus Mission, Vision, and Values through every interaction.

You’ll be a trusted partner in ensuring patients receive safe, seamless care in our high‑performing Day Surgery Center.

What You Bring (Required)

• Current certification as a:
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) through NBSTSA OR
• Tech in Surgery–Certified (TS‑C) through NCCT
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers through AHA, ARC, or Military Training Network
• Strong attention to detail, solid knowledge of aseptic technique, and the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team

Preferred

• One year of scrub experience in an acute care hospital setting
• Experience in outpatient or same‑day surgery environments
• A passion for patient‑centered care and continuous improvement
