Job summary

Samaritan Medical Center in Maine is seeking a Certified Surgical Tech to support the Operating Room team. Completion of a Certified Surgical Tech program is preferred, or eligibility for a NY LPN license, plus an approved pharmacology course and successful medications exam.

Knowledge of sterilization and OR instrument care is required; OR experience is preferred; BLS is required; CEUs are expected annually.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Certified Surgical Tech program is preferred or current NY LPN license eligible.
• Approved pharmacology course or medications exam successfully completed.
• Knowledge of cleaning/sterilization/disinfection of OR equipment and instrumentation.
• OR experience preferred.
• BLS certification required.
• CEU requirements: 15 CEUs per year.

• Completion of a Certified Surgical Tech program preferred or current New York State LPN license eligible
• Approved pharmacology course or previous medication experience and successful achievement in medications exam.
• Knowledge in the use of cleaning/sterilization/disinfections of equipment and instrumentation utilized in the clinical operating room setting.
• OR experience preferred
• Desire to work within an Operating Room setting.
• BLS required.
• Continuing education requirements of 15 CEU’s per year.
