Job summary

The technician will assist with positioning, draping, and transfer under RN supervision, while maintaining infection control and room readiness for subsequent cases.

Qualifications

• Technical School graduate of Surgical Technology or Practical Nursing program required
• Associate Degree in Surgical Technology or Applied Sciences required
• 0-2 years of operating room surgical technician experience required

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating room and ensure instruments, equipment, and supplies are ready for procedures
• Maintain sterile field and adhere to aseptic technique throughout procedures
• Anticipate surgeon needs and pass instruments efficiently
• Handle instruments and equipment per policy, including inspection and sterilization
• Assist with patient positioning, draping, and transfer under RN direction
• Restock supplies and prep rooms for subsequent cases
• Maintain physician preference cards and procedural documentation
