Job summary

As our Surgical Tech at Dignity Health - St. Elizabeth Community Hospital in Red Bluff, CA, you will prepare the operating room and assist the surgical team to enable a wide range of procedures.

You will set up equipment, support the team, and maintain a sterile environment to contribute to patient healing. The role requires adaptability, teamwork, and enthusiasm for supporting complex surgeries, with a pay range of $46.27–$52.41 per hour and a strong commitment to patient safety and quality

Qualifications

  • One year recent experience in the acute care arena as operating room scrub tech or equivalent.
  • Certified Surgical Technologist or Technologist in Surgery-Certified upon hire.
  • Basic Life Support - CPR certification through the American Heart Association upon hire.

Responsibilities

  • Assists the surgeon as a scrubbed member of the team by passing instruments, sponges and sutures
  • Assists in assembling, preparing, cleaning, adjusting and storing equipment and supplies used in surgeries
  • Assists in setting up each case and positions furniture and equipment in operating rooms appropriate to specific surgeries, which includes picking instruments and suture for each case
  • Maintains a safe working environment for patient care by following standard and special cleaning procedures. Appraises the operational efficiency of all equipment and takes proper steps to solve existing problems prior to admitting patient
  • Scrubs in and allows adequate time to prepare for each case
  • Assists in positioning and draping of patients and gowning and gloving of physician and assistants

Education

Graduate of an accredited school of surgical technology
Certified Surgical Technologist
Technologist in Surgery-Certified
CPR - American Heart Association

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Surgical Tech, you will help prepare the operating room and surgical team so they can successfully perform a variety of surgical procedures for patients. Every day you will set up surgical equipment and instruments, assist the surgical team, and ensure a sterile environment. You will be expected to adapt quickly, collaborate effectively within the OR team, and contribute directly to the patient's healing process.

To be successful in this role, you must possess adaptability, a strong team-player mindset, and enthusiasm for supporting complex surgical procedures.

Job Requirements
Required
  • One year recent experience in the acute care arena as operating room scrub tech or
  • combination of recent education, certification and experience and
  • Certified Surgical Technologist, upon hire or
  • Technologist in Surgery-Certified, upon hire and
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire (Must be through the American Heart Association)
Preferred
  • Graduate of an accredited school of surgical technology, upon hire
