Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Pascack Valley Medical Center in Westwood, NJ invites a Certified Surgical Technologist to join our day shift team. The role supports surgeons in the sterile field, performs scrub duties, and ensures availability of supplies for procedures, under RN supervision.

Commitment to state requirements and patient safety is essential. Eligible candidates are CSTs (or NCC) with NJ licensure, BLS, and ongoing education.

Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or NCC.
• Annually complete 15 hours of continuing education to remain qualified to practice as a surgical technologist in the State of NJ.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Responsibilities

• Assist the surgeon in the sterile field according to AORN Standards of Practice Recommendations.
• Performs scrub duties in varied specialties/procedures.
• Ensure the case has the necessary sterile supplies and equipment for the surgeon and procedure.
• Assist with circulating duties under direct supervision of the RN circulator.
• Ensure adherence to Hospital, State, and departmental policies and procedures.
