Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Pascack Valley Medical Center is seeking a day shift, full-time Certified Surgical Technologist to assist surgeons in the sterile field and perform scrub and circulating duties under RN supervision. The role requires CST or NCC certification, ongoing CE, and BLS within 14 days of hire.

Located in Westwood, NJ, the hospital offers a 128-bed acute-care setting with modern facilities. Candidates should have completed a Surgical Technologist program and possess High School or GED

Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or NCC.
• Annually complete 15 hours of continuing education to remain qualified to practice as a surgical technologist in NJ.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Responsibilities

• Assist the surgeon in the sterile field according to AORN Standards of Practice Recommendations.
• Perform scrub duties in varied specialties/procedures.
• Ensure the case has the necessary sterile supplies and equipment for that surgeon and procedure.
• Assist with circulating duties under direct supervision of the RN circulator assigned to the patient.
• Ensure adherence to Hospital, State, and departmental policies and procedures.
