Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Pascack Valley Medical Center in Westwood, NJ is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist to support the surgeon in the sterile field and perform scrub duties across varied specialties.

The role requires CST or NCC certification, BLS within 14 days of hire, and annual CE credits; preferred candidates graduate from a Surgical Technologist Program with High School/GED and have at least 1 year of experience.

Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or NCC.
• Annually complete 15 hours of continuing education to remain qualified to practice as a surgical technologist in the State of NJ.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Responsibilities

• Assists the surgeon in the sterile field according to AORN Standards of Practice Recommendations.
• Performs scrub duties in varied specialties/procedures.
• Ensures the case has sterile supplies and equipment for the surgeon and procedure.
• Assists with circulating duties under direct supervision of the RN circulator.
• Adheres to Hospital, State, and departmental policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

• The Certified Surgical Technologist is responsible for assisting the surgeon in the sterile field according to AORN Standards of Practice Recommendations.
