Job summary

AdventHealth in Lake Wales, Florida is seeking a Surgical Tech to support the operating room team. You will scrub, gown, and glove, prepare sterile setups, assist with instrument counts, and help maintain sterile conditions throughout procedures.

The role requires Basic Life Support and CST certification or equivalent credential, with strong adherence to safety and patient care standards. Florida background screening applies.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Check supplies and equipment needed for surgical procedures.

Job Description

• Checks supplies and equipment needed for surgical procedures.
• Scrubs, gowns, and gloves for surgical procedures.
• Sets up sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications/solutions needed for procedures, displaying knowledge of procedure and patient positioning.
• Performs appropriate counts with circulator prior to the operation and before the incision is closed.
• Gowns and gloves surgeon and assistants.
• Assists other team members with terminal cleaning of the room and prepping for the next patient.
• Handles surgical specimens with 100% accuracy.
• Recognizes and responds immediately to emergency situations appropriately.
• Helps in draping sterile field.
• Passes instruments and supplies to surgeon during procedures.
• Maintains the highest standard of sterile technique during procedures.
• Prepares sterile dressings and cleans and prepares instruments for terminal sterilization.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
