Job summary

Valley Baptist Health System in Harlingen, TX is seeking a Surgical Technologist to provide scrub support in the operating room. The role requires aseptic technique, setting up instruments, and passing items during surgical procedures to ensure efficiency and safety. Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited surgical technology program is required; an Associate degree is preferred.

Experience of about 1 year is favored. Certification includes AHA BLS; surgical technology certification.

Responsibilities

  • The Surgical Technologist is responsible for aseptic technique, setting up the required equipment, instrumentation and sterile supplies as needed for their assigned cases; scrubbing and passing instruments and equipment during surgical procedures; pulling cases as needed, breaking down cases at the end of the procedure, sets up operating room and supplies needed for day/following day’s schedule. Available for call on an assigned scheduled basis as required by unit need. Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

This position may qualify for a sign-on bonus. The Surgical Technologist demonstrates basic knowledge and skills in the scrub role, necessary to provide assistance during surgical procedures performed in the department.
