Job Summary and Qualifications
Our Surgical Service teams are dedicated, compassionate, and passionate about creating positive patient interactions. We utilize advanced robotic surgical technology across various specialties including gynecology, general surgery, thoracic, urology, spine, and joint replacement. Services at Summit include gynecology, urology, neurology, spine, orthopedics, ENT, plastics, and vascular. As a Surgical Tech, you will work directly with surgeons, assisting during procedures and ensuring patient safety. If you are committed to caring for others, this could be your next opportunity.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Communicating surgeon’s preferences and patient needs to the surgical team.
- Positioning patients for procedures according to surgeon preference.
- Providing intraoperative skills such as visualization, trocar insertion, hemostasis, tissue handling, and securing wound drains.
- Operating open, laparoscopic, and robotic surgical equipment.
- Performing technical skills like clamping, cauterizing, suturing, tissue manipulation, and ligation.
- Closing incisions using appropriate suturing techniques.
- Providing postoperative care including dressing wounds, patient transfer, and monitoring for complications.
- Collaborating with team members to ensure continuity of care.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of employment.
- Certification as a First Assistant through NBSTSA — REQUIRED.
- High School Diploma or GED — REQUIRED.
TriStar Summit is a 234-bed comprehensive facility serving Davidson, Wilson, and surrounding counties.
