Job summary

WellSpan York Hospital is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist to perform a variety of duties in the operative treatment of surgical patients. You will assist in positioning, skin prep, draping, hemostasis, wound exposure, and tissue handling under the surgeon’s direction.

Proficiency with surgical instruments and aseptic technique is essential. The role requires a minimum of 2 years as a CST, with licensure and certifications obtained at hire.

Qualifications

• Certificate program post high school vocational training completed.
• Associates degree preferred for advancement.
• Minimum 2 years as a Certified Surgical Technologist required.

Responsibilities

• Provides primary surgical assistance to the surgeon during the operative procedure.
• Assists in positioning, skin preparation, and draping of the patient.
• Provides hemostasis, wound exposure, and sutures tissue under surgeon direction.
• Uses surgical instruments skillfully in ways consistent with their design and purpose.
• Assists in transporting the patient postoperatively.
• Communicates information to the post anesthesia care unit.
