Job summary

St. Luke's Health - Memorial Lufkin is seeking a Surgical First Assistant to support the operating team during procedures. You will assist the surgeon with exposure, hemostasis, and wound closure, ensuring a safe and efficient surgical experience.

Under direct supervision, you will work with the surgical team and circulating nurse, contributing to perioperative care and patient safety in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED.
• Minimum of two (2) years of surgical experience.
• Certified Surgical First Assistant NASC (CFA-NASC) OR CFA OR CST/CSFA.
• Basic Life Support - CPR.

Responsibilities

• Assist the surgeon during operative procedures under their direction.
• Provide exposure, hemostasis, and wound closure support.
• Collaborate closely with the surgical team and circulating nurse.
• Report to the designated Team Leader and follow perioperative protocols.
