Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited surgical technology course or certified surgical assistant.
• Five years CST experience required or two years in a first assist role.
• Certified by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting required.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate safe and effective conduct of surgical procedures.
• Ensure the operating room environment is safe and equipment functions properly.
• Assist in performing invasive therapeutic and diagnostic procedures.

Skills

Knowledge of sterile and aseptic technique

Ability to assess patient's status

Exposure and hemostasis techniques
