Job summary

AdventHealth in Ocala, FL is seeking a part-time, PRN Surgical Tech to assist in the operating room. Responsibilities include setting up suites per surgeon preferences, maintaining sterility, and passing instruments and medications during procedures.

The role requires completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program with BLS CPR; 2+ years experience preferred, and ABSA SA-C/CSFA credentials are advantageous.

Qualifications

• Completion of accredited Surgical Technology program.
• Certified Surgical First Assistant preferred or ABSA SA-C required.
• BLS CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Set up operating suites per surgeon preferences and manage instrument supplies.
• Assist with patient positioning and maintain aseptic technique.
• Pass medications and hemostatic agents during procedures.
• Prepare instruments for sterilization and transport to decontamination.
• Perform instrument, sharps, and sponge counts; participate in time-out verifications.
• Ensure patient comfort and safety throughout procedures.
