Memorial Hospital - Chattanooga is seeking a Surgical First Assistant to directly assist the surgeon during operative procedures, providing essential exposure and hemostasis support to ensure safe patient care.

You will work closely with the operating team, following guidance from the surgeon and circulating nurse, while reporting to your Team Leader and maintaining strict patient safety standards.

Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Assistant required.
• National Certification First Assistant; AHA BLS certification required or preferred.

As a Surgical First Assistant, you will provide critical patient care by directly assisting the surgeon during operative procedures, working under their immediate direction. You will instrumental in ensuring a safe surgical experience through technical support for exposure, hemostasis, and wound closure.

Every day you will collaborate closely with the surgical team, performing duties under the guidance of the operating surgeon, circulating nurse, and reporting to your designated Team Leader. This involves a range of assigned tasks to support the surgical process effectively.

To be successful, you will demonstrate exceptional technical proficiency in assisting the surgeon, maintaining acute awareness of the surgical field and patient safety.

Pay Range

$35.53 - $52.85 /hour
