Job summary

Olentangy Local School District in Lewis Center, Ohio seeks qualified District Pool Substitute candidates for the 2027-28 school year. District Pool Substitutes are assigned to a primary building but may be directed to alternate assignments based on daily need, and are employed through the Educational Service Center of Central Ohio (ESCCO) with licensure eligibility.

Starting August 19, 2027, substitutes will be paid $170 per work day, increasing to $195 per work day after 61+ consecutive days

Qualifications

• Requires valid Ohio educator licensure or eligibility.
• Must be active on Frontline Absence Management as a certified substitute with ESCCO.
• Employed through the Educational Service Center of Central Ohio (ESCCO) for the district pool.

Responsibilities

• Prepare clear and timely lesson plans
• Demonstrate knowledge of subject matter and present clear, complete, and accurate explanations utilizing a variety of instructional techniques and media suitable to the level of the learners
• Follow the scope and sequence of the instructional program as defined in the board approved maps
• Observe ethics of the teaching profession

Job Description

Olentangy Schools is seeking qualified candidates for multiple District Pool Substitute positions for the 2027-28 school year. District Pool Substitutes are assigned to a primary building within the district but could be directed to an alternate bulding/assignment based on daily need.Qualified candidates will be employed through the Educational Service Center of Central Ohio (ESCCO) and musthold or be eligible for valid and appropriate licensure for each position with the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce and be active on Frontline Absence Management as a certified substitute with the ESCCO.

District Pool Substitutes will be compensated at a rate of $170/work day; $195/work day for 61+ consecutive days with a 100% attendance rate in an assignment, up to three calamity days, (no benefits).

Essential functions for the position include, but is not limited to:

• Ensure the safety of students
• Prepare clear and timely lesson plans
• Demonstrate knowledge of subject matter and present clear, complete, and accurate explanations utilizing a variety of instructional techniques and media suitable to the level of the learners
• Follow the scope and sequence of the instructional program as defined in the board approved maps
• Observe ethics of the teaching profession
