Job summary

Gulf Island in Houma, LA is seeking a Certified Sub Arc Machine Operator to support fabrication of iron and steel structures in accordance with contract specifications and ISO/QC standards.

You will set and operate SAW welding machines, perform welding on structural and pipe projects, and ensure welding quality passes NDT testing. Candidates must be able to pass tests, physicals, and background checks. Gulf Island sponsors no visa applications.

Qualifications

• Must be a Certified Sub Arc Machine Operator.
• Must pass written and practical welding tests.
• Must pass pre-employment physical and drug screen.
• Must pass a background check.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Set and operate welding machine for SAW and automatic processes.
• Perform welding for structural and pipe projects.
• Maintain welding quality to pass NDT testing.
• Work safely and efficiently, following instructions with minimal supervision.
• Operate hand tools and lifts as required.
• Follow written or verbal instructions.
• Perform other duties assigned by supervisor.
