Job summary

CT&C Fabrication in Utah seeks a skilled Welder/Fitter to assemble and fit structural, plate and mechanical pieces per drawings. Proficiency in welding various materials and positions and certification readiness are required.

You will read blueprints, lay out work, tack and weld components, and ensure workmanship meets notes. Safety, accuracy, and the ability to pass welding tests such as AWS D1.1 are essential. High school diploma or GED is required, with about a year of experience.

Qualifications

• Reads and interprets blueprints and prints.
• Welds in all positions with proficiency.
• Ability to interpret drawings and use measuring tools.
• Knowledge of common heat reactions of structural metals.

Responsibilities

• Receives instructions, prints, sketches and work orders.
• Reads and interprets blueprints and plans the fitting operation.
• Directs and assists in handling and assembling material per drawings.
• Lays out work lines or fits up jigs; checks and marks connections.
• Welds on ground level, above ground, and below ground; tack welds.
• Moves material and welding equipment; ensures clean work area.
• Follows welding procedures and passes tests such as AWS D1.1.
• Chips, grinds and finishes material.
