Job description

Base pay range

$29.00/hr - $32.00/hr

The Sterile Processing Technician will be responsible for performing decontamination, sterilization, and preparation of surgical instruments and medical equipment. This role is ideal for professionals with experience in sterile processing, infection control, and the proper handling of medical tools and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Perform decontamination, preparation, sterilization, and distribution of surgical instruments and medical equipment.
2. Adhere to infection control and safety standards throughout the process.
3. Evaluate the functionality of equipment to identify operational errors or malfunctions.
4. Assemble, wrap, and sterilize medical instruments and supplies.
5. Ensure all processes follow safety and sanitary standards.
6. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and perform bending and lifting tasks as part of decontamination.

Qualifications:

1. Experience: 3 years of experience in sterile processing or a related field.
2. HSPA or CBSPD certification required.
3. BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association.
4. A current Technician License (accepted in NY) is required.
