Job Summary and Qualifications
Position Summary

The Certified Central Sterile Technician is responsible for cleaning, decontamination, assembling, and sterilizing all reusable supplies for patient care, as well as storing surgical instrumentation/equipment.

Essential Functions
  • Identify opportunities to improve performance and assist with implementation.
  • Demonstrate principles of decontamination, disinfection, and sterilization.
  • Apply infection control principles and prevent cross-contamination.
  • Respond appropriately to risks, wear protective equipment, and reprocess when sterile integrity is in doubt.
  • Create and maintain accurate records of inventories, instrument sets, sterilized goods, and biological test results.
  • Maintain knowledge of sterilization equipment and systems.
  • Collaborate with surgical teams to enhance patient care and optimize OR schedules.
  • Maintain certification and pursue educational opportunities.
  • Provide excellent customer service under pressure.

  • High School Graduate / GED
