Job summary

Utah Surgical Center in West Valley City, UT, is seeking a Certified Instrument/Sterile Processing Tech. You will assist under an RN, ensuring instruments are cleaned, sterilized, and ready for patient care.

Qualifications

Minimum 1 year of surgical instrument sterilization experience.
Valid BCLS certification required at employment.
Knowledge of AAMI and ASHCSP standards and guidelines.

Responsibilities

Maintain instrument sterilization, cleanliness, and instrument care.
Keep a sanitary environment for patient care.
Apply appropriate sterilization methods per instrument and manufacturer guidance.
Demonstrate knowledge of high-level disinfection for endoscopy equipment.
Maintain daily log and test disinfecting solution efficacy; perform biological testing.
Record test loads and sterilization cycles; report deviations to OR Coordinator/Nurse Manager.
Maintain log for equipment out for repair.
