Job summary

HCA Florida North Florida Hospital is seeking a Certified Sterile Processing Technician to join our team in Gainesville, FL. You will sanitize, decontaminate, and prepare instruments for sterile use, ensuring accurate labeling and inventory management in a high-volume surgical setting.

The role requires HS diploma and either CSPT certification or related training; prior sterile processing or surgical tech experience is preferred, with opportunities for education assistance and career growth

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent required.
• Surgical Technologist training preferred.
• Certification/Experience in Sterile Processing preferred.
• Previous Surgical Technician experience preferred.
• Certified Sterile Processing Technician (CSPT)

Responsibilities

• Clean and decontaminate surgical instruments and equipment using detergents and disinfecting solutions.
• Wrap, seal and accurately label items that are to be sterilized.
• Sterilizes instruments, equipment, linen and related supplies using sterilizers.
• Prepares surgical sets and instruments ensuring that all instrumentation is correct and accurate.
• Ensures that all instrument cards are kept up to date and accurate.
• Stores sterilized and prepared supplies and equipment in designated areas.
• Informs bio-med of equipment no longer service able or other problems that arise.
