Job summary

Adventist Health Glendale is seeking an organized Sterile Processing Technician to decontaminate and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment. You will assemble instrument sets, prepare for immediate use sterilization, and maintain a clean, orderly department.

You will perform routine diagnostic testing on sterilizing equipment, document instrument counts, and assist in support of operating room, recovery, and other departments as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Education/GED or equivalent: Required.
• Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred.
• Sterile Processing Technician certification: Required.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminates and sterilizes instruments and equipment.
• Assembles instrument sets and trays for cases.
• Maintains a clean and orderly department environment.
• Performs instrument counts and records counts, logs loaners as needed.
• Performs routine testing on sterilizing equipment and diagnostics.
