Job summary

TCH Medical Center in Austin, TX is seeking a Lead Certified Sterile Process Technician to assist the Manager in supervising instrument processing and sterilization across the hospital.

Responsibilities include ensuring staff are trained, processing instruments, maintaining QA data, and coordinating with OR/BioMed/Supply Chain for troubleshooting and ordering instruments. Respiratory fit testing will be required for safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CRCST certification or CSPDT certification required as listed in job posting.
• Minimum 2 years of hospital instrument processing experience.

Responsibilities

• Process decontaminated medical devices according to priorities, IFÚs and best practices.
• Ensure staff are trained in decontamination equipment operation.
• Receive instruments and process them appropriately.
• Perform routine environmental duties including cleaning and waste monitoring.
• Complete sterilization processes and high-level disinfection.
• Monitor completion of Quality Assurance Data.

Job description

We are looking for a Lead Certified Sterile Process Technician, someone who’s ready to grow with our company. In this position, you will assist the Manager in supervising the efficient processing of instruments and sterilization throughout the Hospital.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Processes decontaminated medical devices as they are received, according to established priorities, medical device IFU’s and best practices.
• Ensures staff are trained in the operation of the decontamination equipment.
• Receives instruments from the decontamination area and processes appropriately.
• Performs physical and environmental duties as designated routinely, including cleaning workspace/instrument room/cabinets, emptying biohazards waste, monitoring sterilizers, and checking environmental monitors.
• Completes sterilization processes.
• High level disinfection.
• Monitor completion of Quality Assurance Data
• Ensure the department is adequately staffed daily, including weekends.
• Collaborate with others i.e., OR coordinators BioMed, Supply Chain, for troubleshooting/ordering instruments etc.
• Performs other duties as assigned, including other essential instrument room duties.
