Job summary

The George Washington University Hospital in downtown Washington, DC is seeking a dedicated Sterile Processing Technician. The role focuses on managing the full reprocessing cycle for surgical instrumentation, from disassembly to sterilization, ensuring patient safety and procedural efficiency.

Ideal candidates will have two years of SPD experience, CRCST or CSPDT certification, and strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Two years of sterile processing experience as a certified SPD Tech.
• CRCST or CSPDT certification (or equivalent).
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and instrument management systems.

Responsibilities

• Operate ultrasonic cleaners, washers, sterilizers and related equipment.
• Conduct quality monitoring and documentation.
• Prepare case carts with instruments and supplies for surgery.
• Perform quality assurance checks and maintain supply inventory.
• Mentor and train new technicians, promoting teamwork and excellence.
