Job summary

Liberty Point Behavioral Healthcare, LLC is seeking a highly motivated Special Education Teacher (Alternative Education) for Liberty Point Academy in Staunton, VA. This full-time role involves on-campus instruction, collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, and implementing trauma-informed educational practices.

The position offers a sign-on bonus for fully licensed teachers and a smaller bonus for license-eligible candidates, plus full benefits and competitive pay.

Qualifications

• Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Education.
• Virginia or out-of-state teaching license in Special Education or General Curriculum K-12.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Preferred: three years of classroom experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide developmentally appropriate classroom instruction to assigned students according to IEP/IPP goals and objectives.
• Implement the Behavioral Program at Liberty Point, assess and document students’ behavior progress, and adjust strategies with the treatment team.
• Assess students’ academic achievement and adjust instructional planning to maximize progress.
• Maintain communication with staff, parents/guardians, and local education agencies; update IEPs/IPP’s.
• Participate in professional development activities on-site and off-site.
• Display professionalism in all activities and interactions.
