Frederick Community College seeks a part-time certified Sign Language Interpreter to facilitate communication for Deaf and hard of hearing students and campus visitors. The role covers academic courses, campus events, and continuing education, with a flexible schedule including day, evening, or weekend hours.
Expected qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree, RID/NAD/BEI certification, and at least two years of professional interpreting experience. RID membership is required.

Part-time Variable Schedule
This position facilitates communication with Deaf and hard of hearing students and visitors on campus. The Certified Sign Language Interpreter interprets for academic courses (both credit and Continuing Education), campus activities/events, and miscellaneous assignments for the College, using varying styles and approaches that reflect an understanding and acceptance of the role of culture in a diverse, multicultural workplace. This position requires a flexible schedule and may include both day and evening hours or weekend hours. Hours will vary each semester depending on the College’s interpreting needs.
