Job summary

Walgreens is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacists in dispensing, data entry, and patient services. You will help manage inventory, process third-party claims, and assist customers with product needs in a fast-paced retail pharmacy environment.

The role requires PTCB/ExCPT certification (where required), 1 year of pharmacy tech experience, and flexibility to work evenings/weekends. Training and ongoing development are provided within Walgreens' clinical services framework.

Qualifications

• PTCB or ExCPT certification is required (except in Puerto Rico).
• One year of work experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail or hospital setting.
• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Requires willingness to work flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.
• Willingness to obtain active immunization certification within 90 days of hire (except in Community Specialty Pharmacy, Health System Pharmacy locations, or where covered by a collective bargaining agreement).

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacist in dispensing and entering patient and drug information.
• Fill prescriptions by retrieving, counting and pouring pharmaceutical drugs; verify accuracy and potential interactions.
• Assist with inventory management and pharmacy workflow.
• Process manual and third-party claims for prescription services; perform clerical duties as assigned.
• Advise and guide customers to OTC products; handle calls not needing pharmacist attention.
• Maintain compliance with Good Faith Dispensing and Pharmacy Code of Conduct.
• Support relationship with local medical community and coordinate with healthcare providers.
