Customer Experience
- Engages customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolves customer issues and answers questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
- Models and shares customer service best practices with all team members to deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience, including interpersonal habits (e.g., greeting, eye contact, courtesy, etc.) and Walgreens service traits (e.g., offering help proactively, identifying needs, servicing until satisfied, etc.).
- Develops strong relationships with most valuable customers.
Operations
- Under the supervision of the pharmacist, assist in pharmacy practice in accordance with state, federal, and company policy. Reviews and complies with the Walgreens Pharmacy Code of Conduct.
- Performs duties assigned by Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist, and Store Manager, including entering patient and drug information, filling prescriptions, verifying medicines, and checking for interactions.
- Reports prescription errors immediately and adheres to policies regarding pharmacy errors and quality improvement.
- Follows Good Faith Dispensing policies during all prescription activities.
- Handles sales registration, cash handling, and assists customers in locating products.
- Processes manual claims for third-party prescriptions and performs clerical duties as assigned.
- Leads inventory management activities, including ordering, unpacking, and storing pharmaceuticals, and files claims for overages, shortages, and damages.
- Assists in analyzing pharmacy performance data and improving service and inventory metrics.
- May assist in clinical services, including sample collection and coordination with healthcare providers.
- Supports the execution of the Pickup program.
- Ensures the pharmacy area is stocked, clean, and orderly.
- Coaches pharmacy technicians and cashiers to improve efficiency.
- Maintains respectful relationships with coworkers and complies with all policies.
- Completes special assignments as needed.
Training & Personal Development
- Maintains PTCB or ExCPT certification and completes required training and continuing education.
- Stays informed on healthcare and pharmacy developments.
Basic Qualifications
- PTCB or ExCPT certification (except in Puerto Rico).
- One year of pharmacy technician experience in retail or hospital setting.
- Fluency in English (reading, writing, speaking).
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior Walgreens experience.
- Basic math skills (counting, measuring, weighing medications).
- Basic PC skills (starting/stopping computers, using programs, saving files, printing, online access).
- Knowledge of store inventory control.
