Job summary

Birch Agency is seeking a dedicated Certified School Nurse (CSN) to provide comprehensive school health services for the 2026-2027 school year in Broadview, Illinois. This is a full-time, in-person opportunity to support student health, wellness, and academic success while collaborating with a multidisciplinary educational team.

The CSN will administer medications, develop IHPs, coordinate 504 plans and IEPs, maintain health records, and respond to emergencies.

Qualifications

• Requires valid IL PEL with School Nurse endorsement or Illinois CSN credential.
• Active IL RN license in good standing is required.
• Experience in school-based nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing services to students in accordance with state regulations and district policies.
• Assess, monitor, and address student health needs, including chronic and acute medical conditions.
• Develop and implement IHPs and collaborate on 504 Plans and IEPs as needed.
• Administer medications and perform health-related procedures per physician orders and school guidelines.
• Maintain accurate health records and documentation.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, related service providers, families, and community healthcare professionals.
• Respond to medical emergencies and provide appropriate nursing interventions.
• Promote health education and wellness initiatives within the school community.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing services to students in accordance with state regulations and district policies.

Qualifications

• Current Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
• Previous school-based nursing experience preferred.
• Knowledge of pediatric health practices, special education services, and student health regulations.
• Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
