Qualifications

• Texas CDL with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements required
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Ability to pass DOT drug/alcohol tests and annual physical
• Ability to complete required bus driver safety training
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Ability to use maps and GPS to follow routes
• Ability to manage student behavior
• Ability to communicate effectively with others

Responsibilities

• Drive bus daily on assigned route following schedules
• Drive to/from extracurricular activities and events
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections and notify repairs as needed
• Report accidents, vehicle damage, and student injuries
• Maintain discipline and supervise students boarding and exiting the bus
• Operate two-way radio and monitor safety equipment
• Completes records on mileage, fuel, passengers
• Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures
