Qualifications

• Passing score on state recognized paraprofessional assessment.
• Experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting.
• Knowledge of special education practices and willingness to learn and apply new strategies.
• Proficient in the use of multi‑media and computer technology to support learning.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with a classroom team.
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
• Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and current auto liability insurance.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate's Degree or higher preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support to students with special needs.
• Collaborate with special education teachers and other staff.
• Assist in the development and implementation of behavior intervention plans; support scheduling and facilitation of IEP meetings.
• Monitor and document student progress.
• Assist in development, implementation, and oversight of individualized education programs to ensure appropriate education for students.
• Support the use of resources and technology to promote critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving.
• Personalize support based on student needs and manage time to maximize learning opportunities.
