Job description

HireQuest Direct is seeking a Certified Rigger to join our team. As a Rigger, you will be responsible for safely securing, lifting, and maneuvering heavy loads using cranes. Your role is critical in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of all crane activities. If you are committed to safety, enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, and have hands-on experience rigging for cranes, we want to hear from you!

Note: This position is full time and will last for the duration of the project.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Rig and secure loads for crane operations, ensuring proper balance and safety
2. Direct crane operators using hand signals and/or radios to guide precise lifts
3. Inspect and maintain rigging equipment (slings, hooks, shackles, etc.) to ensure safety and compliance
4. Collaborate with crane operators and other construction team members to execute lifts according to the site plan
5. Review and interpret load charts, lifting plans, and construction blueprints
6. Ensure that all lifts comply with OSHA and other safety regulations
7. Maintain a safe and organized work environment around crane operations
8. Assist with the setup and teardown of crane equipment as needed
9. Identify and report any safety hazards or equipment malfunctions immediately

Qualifications:

1. Certified Rigger with a valid NCCCO (or equivalent) certification - This is Required!
2. Minimum of 1 year of experience as a rigger on construction sites, specifically with cranes
3. Strong understanding of rigging techniques, crane operations, and safety protocols
4. Ability to communicate effectively with crane operators, supervisors, and other crew members
5. Comfortable working in a variety of weather conditions and at heights
6. Physically fit, with the ability to lift heavy objects and work for extended periods
7. Strong focus on safety, quality, and attention to detail

Salary: $25/hr

Shifts: 1st shift (8-10 hours/day)
