Job summary

HCA Florida Northside Hospital is seeking a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) to evaluate respiratory needs and develop care plans for patients. The role involves ventilator management, administering respiratory therapies, and documenting care in hospital systems.

A supportive team environment and opportunities for professional growth are emphasized. The position requires Florida licensure as a Certified Respiratory Therapist, BLS, and within six months ACLS/PALS/NRP training commitments.

Qualifications

• Completion of Vocational/Technical program or AMA-approved respiratory care program (Associate Degree); Bachelor’s Degree preferred
• Clear/active Florida Department of Health licensure as a Certified Respiratory Therapist
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• ACLS, PALS and NRP within 6 months of hire
• Frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling and moving equipment

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the application and operation of acute care ventilators used for continuous short and long-term mechanical ventilation
• Must be self-directed in the absence of a full-time Team Leader
• Maintain all department and hospital records and enter accurate information into the hospital computer for the therapy as given
• Set up/administer all routine and complex respiratory therapy procedures to patients of all ages
