Job summary

HCA Florida Brandon Hospital in Brandon, FL is seeking an experienced Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) to join our PRN team. You will evaluate patients' respiratory needs and develop the Respiratory Care Plan to improve outcomes.

This role requires a Vocational/Technical program or AMA-approved respiratory care program, Florida licensure, BLS, ACLS/PALS/NRP within 6 months, and the ability to work with diverse patients across all ages.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Vocational/Technical program or AMA‑approved respiratory care program (Associate Degree); Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Clear/active Florida Department of Health licensure as a Certified Respiratory Therapist.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• ACLS, PALS and NRP within 6 months of hire.
• Frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling and moving equipment.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the application and operation of acute care ventilators used for continuous short and long-term mechanical ventilation
• Must be self-directed in the absence of a full‑time Team Leader
• Maintain all department and hospital records and enter accurate information into the hospital computer for the therapy as given
• Set up/administer all routine and complex respiratory therapy procedures to patients of all ages
