Job summary

Texas Rehabilitation Hospital of Arlington is seeking a Certified Respiratory Therapist to join an interdisciplinary team in Arlington, TX. This full-time role features four 9-hour shifts (11am-8pm) and a focus on delivering high‑quality respiratory care to our patients.

Applicants should be AMA-approved graduates with a current license and BLS CPR. Three or more years of cardiopulmonary experience are highly preferred, with opportunity for professional growth and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Respiratory Therapy.
  • Current state Respiratory Therapist license and CPR (BLS).
  • 3+ years of cardiopulmonary/respiratory care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of oxygen delivery methods and equipment; monitors for and addresses potential side effects.
  • Administers ordered respiratory therapy treatments; understands indications, dosing parameters, and possible adverse effects.
  • Sets up and monitors mechanical ventilators; performs associated critical-care duties such as airway management and tracheal suctioning.
  • Assesses pain that interferes with function or rehabilitation participation and notifies the physician for appropriate intervention.
  • Performs arterial punctures to obtain ABG samples; recognizes potential complications and contraindications.
  • Performs EKGs, documents/reports results per department procedure, routes to requesting providers, and files reports appropriately.
  • Collaborates with physicians, nursing and rehabilitation staff to coordinate care and optimize outcomes.
  • Ensures accurate, timely documentation in the medical record and adheres to infection prevention and safety practices.
  • Maintains equipment readiness; follows department policies, competency requirements, and quality improvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What we're looking for
