As Southeast Orthopedic Specialists continues to grow, we are actively hiring a PRN Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist in Jacksonville, FL. Please see below for the functions and requirements needed for consideration:

GENERAL SUMMARY

The primary duty of a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) is to administer anesthesia and related care during medical procedures, surgeries, or interventions. This includes patient assessment, anesthesia planning and administration, monitoring vital signs, and managing anesthesia levels throughout procedures. CRNAs collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure safe, effective anesthesia care, provide patient education, and maintain detailed records. Upholding ethical standards, adhering to healthcare regulations, and advancing professional skills are essential components of this role.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Anesthesia Administration: Safely administer general, regional, and local anesthesia based on patient needs and surgical requirements.
  • Patient Assessment: Conduct pre-procedure evaluations of medical history, current health, and anesthesia risks.
  • Anesthesia Planning and Monitoring: Develop care plans, monitor responses during procedures, and adjust anesthesia as needed.
  • Patient Advocacy: Ensure informed consent, address patient concerns, and advocate for their needs.
  • Collaborative Care: Work with surgeons, physicians, nurses, and other professionals to optimize outcomes.
  • Emergency Response: Respond effectively to anesthesia-related emergencies or complications.
  • Patient Education and Communication: Educate patients and families about anesthesia options, risks, and recovery.
  • Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records in compliance with standards.
EDUCATION
  • Completion of a BSN followed by an accredited graduate program in nurse anesthesia (MSN or DNP).
EXPERIENCE
  • Rigorous anesthesia training and clinical experience during graduate studies.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Certification and Licensure: Pass the NCE exam administered by NBCRNA and hold an RN license in practice state.
