Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) - Full Time - (CAL000I1)
Description
The CRNA will be responsible for:
- Pre-operative and immediate post-operative visits to patients, reporting the findings to the Anesthesiologist.
- Completing an accurate and thorough assessment of patients and developing a plan of care for anesthesia.
- Administering anesthesia under the direction of an Anesthesiologist, demonstrating skills including intravenous cannulization, drug administration, airway management, endotracheal intubation, manual and mechanical ventilation, monitoring, and arterial cannulization.
- Maintaining clinical records and documenting charges.
- Reporting changes in the patient's condition to the anesthesiologist and surgeon.
- Checking and cleaning anesthesia equipment in the assigned area at the end of a case.
- Reporting malfunctioning equipment to the Chief CRNA.
- Generating the intra-operative anesthetic report.
- Functioning as part of the Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation team.
- Continuously reassessing the patient and altering the plan of care in collaboration with the anesthesiologist.
Qualifications
- Current Alabama license to practice as a Registered Nurse.
- Current Alabama license to practice as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist.
- Licensed and re-certified by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists and the Alabama Board of Nursing, Registered Nurse – CRNA.
- Providing quality patient care tailored to the needs of the population served, including age-specific groups: pediatric (>1–12 years), adolescent (>12–17 years), adult (>17–65 years), and geriatric (>65 years).
- BLS certification required by the end of the provisional period. ACLS and PALS certifications required within one year of employment.
