Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) - Full Time-(CAL000I1)
Job Description
The CRNA will be responsible for:
- Pre-operative and immediate post-operative visits to patients, reporting findings to the Anesthesiologist.
- Completing accurate assessments of patients and developing anesthesia care plans.
- Administering anesthesia under the supervision of an Anesthesiologist, demonstrating skills such as intravenous cannulation, drug administration, airway management, endotracheal intubation, manual and mechanical ventilation, monitoring, and arterial cannulation.
- Maintaining clinical records and documenting charges.
- Reporting changes in patient condition to the anesthesiologist and surgeon.
- Checking and cleaning anesthesia equipment after procedures.
- Reporting malfunctioning equipment to the Chief CRNA.
- Generating intra-operative anesthetic reports.
- Participating as part of the Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation team.
- Reassessing patients continually and adjusting care plans in collaboration with anesthesiologists.
Qualifications
- Current Alabama license to practice as a Registered Nurse.
- Current Alabama license to practice as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist.
- Licensed and re-certified by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists and the Alabama Board of Nursing (Registered Nurse – CRNA).
- Providing quality patient care for various age groups: pediatric (>1–12 years), adolescent (>12–17 years), adult (>17–65 years), and geriatric (>65 years).
- BLS certification required by the end of the provisional period. ACLS and PALS certifications required within one year of employment.
