Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) - Full Time-(CAL000I1)

Job Description

The CRNA will be responsible for:

1. Pre-operative and immediate post-operative visits to patients, reporting findings to the Anesthesiologist.
2. Completing accurate assessments of patients and developing anesthesia care plans.
3. Administering anesthesia under the supervision of an Anesthesiologist, demonstrating skills such as intravenous cannulation, drug administration, airway management, endotracheal intubation, manual and mechanical ventilation, monitoring, and arterial cannulation.
4. Maintaining clinical records and documenting charges.
5. Reporting changes in patient condition to the anesthesiologist and surgeon.
6. Checking and cleaning anesthesia equipment after procedures.
7. Reporting malfunctioning equipment to the Chief CRNA.
8. Generating intra-operative anesthetic reports.
9. Participating as part of the Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation team.
10. Reassessing patients continually and adjusting care plans in collaboration with anesthesiologists.

Qualifications

• Current Alabama license to practice as a Registered Nurse.
• Current Alabama license to practice as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist.
• Licensed and re-certified by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists and the Alabama Board of Nursing (Registered Nurse – CRNA).
• Providing quality patient care for various age groups: pediatric (>1–12 years), adolescent (>12–17 years), adult (>17–65 years), and geriatric (>65 years).
• BLS certification required by the end of the provisional period. ACLS and PALS certifications required within one year of employment.
