Job summary

Avera St Mary’s Hospital in Pierre, SD seeks a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join a multidisciplinary team for diverse procedures including surgical, obstetrical, diagnostic and pain management. You will assess patients preoperatively, plan care, secure venous access, manage airway, and oversee anesthesia with patient-centered care.

Responsibilities include intraoperative anesthesia, emergence, postoperative follow-up, and serving as a clinical instructor for anesthesia

Qualifications

• Active CRNA license in the state of practice.
• NBCRNA certification and recertification as required.
• Active RN license in the state of practice.

Responsibilities

A Brief Overview

The CRNA cares for patients at all acuity levels across the lifespan in a variety of settings for procedures including, but not limited to, surgical, obstetrical, diagnostic, therapeutic, and pain management.

What you will do

• Performs a pre-operative patient assessment.
• Determines a plan of care and communicating the plan of care to patient and family.
• Establishes and maintains essential venous access.
• Ensures establishment and maintenance of airway.
• Responsible for inducting, maintaining the anesthesia, and proper monitoring.
• Responsible for completing the anesthesia and the emergence from anesthesia.
• Transfers care to appropriate staff at termination of procedure.
• Performs post-operative follow-up for each case performed.
• Perform as a clinical instructor for anesthesia students.
