Job description

We're hiring a Veterinary Assistant for our growing animal hospital.

Salary: $17 - $21.50 / hour

How You'll Make a Difference:
  • Assist the veterinarian with medical procedures under supervision, helping to create positive impressions and build client trust and loyalty.
  • Communicate with clients about their pet's care, answer questions, educate on treatments, and obtain consent for procedures.
  • Provide excellent customer service to clients and their pets.
  • Manage medical records using practice management software.
  • Perform tasks such as dispensing medication, taking x-rays, blood draws, catheter placement, sample collection, treatments, diagnostic testing, vaccinations, and animal restraint.
  • Maintain and clean medical equipment and hospital areas.
How You'll Succeed:
  • Interact compassionately with animals of various types.
  • Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Be able to lift at least 40 pounds.
  • Certification as a veterinary technician is preferred.
  • An associate degree in veterinary assisting is preferred.
