Bay Microsurgical Unit is a specialized ophthalmic practice focused on the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of eye conditions, including glaucoma, cataracts, and other complex medical and optical issues. The team of experienced ophthalmologists provides patient-centered care at two convenient locations in Georgetown, SC and Myrtle Beach, SC. Bay Microsurgical Unit collaborates closely with Coastal Eye Group to support patients requiring surgical intervention. Role Description

The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) is a full-time, on-site role based at the Myrtle Beach, SC location. The CRNA will provide safe, effective anesthesia care for ophthalmic surgical procedures, including pre-anesthesia assessment, development of anesthesia plans, administration and monitoring of general anesthesia, and post-anesthesia evaluation and recovery oversight. Day-to-day responsibilities include collaborating with surgeons, nurses, and other clinical staff; managing patient airways and vital signs; ensuring adherence to protocols and regulatory standards; and documenting all aspects of anesthesia care in patient records. The CRNA will also participate in quality improvement activities, maintain current clinical competencies, and contribute to a culture of safety, respect, and clear communication.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in anesthesiology and general anesthesia, with demonstrated ability to manage anesthesia care for surgical patients.
• Clinical expertise in nursing and medicine, including comprehensive patient assessment, monitoring, and perioperative care.
• Knowledge of surgical procedures and workflows, particularly in ophthalmic surgery, and ability to collaborate effectively in the operating room.
• Active certification as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) and current, unrestricted RN license in the state of South Carolina (or eligibility to obtain).
• Graduation from an accredited nurse anesthesia program and compliance with continuing education requirements.
• Excellent critical thinking, clinical judgment, and decision-making skills, with attention to detail and patient safety.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and with diverse patient populations.
• Experience in ophthalmology or ambulatory surgery settings is preferred but not required.
