University Health KC is seeking a Certified Recreation Therapist for our Long Term Care unit in Kansas City, MO. The role supports residents’ physical, cognitive, social, and emotional well-being through therapeutic recreation interventions.

Plans are executed with mentorship to non-certified staff, and supervision of TR students as part of a multidisciplinary care approach. The schedule is from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation or related program.
• CTRS certification required for continued employment.
• Strong verbal communication skills for leading activities.
• Solid written communication for documentation.
• BCLS or HeartSavers certification may be required by department.

Responsabilités

• Evaluate residents and develop individualized TR plans.
• Plan and facilitate individual and group TR programs using various modalities.
• Participate in multidisciplinary care plan meetings and share progress.
• Supervise TR interns, assistants, volunteers, and non-certified therapists.
• Maintain equipment, safety, and an orderly environment.
