Our Lady of Consolation, a proud member of Catholic Health, seeks a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist to assess and address residents’ recreational and psychosocial needs. You will develop therapeutic programs to promote independence and a higher quality of life, working with the memory care unit and interdisciplinary team.

The role requires CTRS certification and a bachelor’s degree in Therapeutic Recreation or related field.

Qualifications

Current CTRS certification required.
Bachelor’s degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Recreation Therapy or related field.
Ability to work Sunday-Thursday 8:30am-4:40pm and rotating holidays.

Responsibilities

Assess residents’ recreational, social, emotional, cognitive, and physical needs.
Develop and implement therapeutic recreation programs to enhance quality of life.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to provide meaningful activities.
Attend care plan meetings and develop goals and approaches.
Complete EMR and MDS progress notes and care plan documentation.
Plan memory care unit activities and community outings.
Transport residents to therapeutic programs within the facility.
Assist with rehab assessments on weekends and church-related activities.
