Job summary

Phoenix House of New York is seeking a Certified Recovery Peer Advocate to join the Neighborhood Outreach and Wellness NOW mobile unit. You will provide peer-based recovery support, outreach, and engagement services to individuals in Brooklyn and across NYC as part of a DOHMH-funded initiative.

Responsibilities include conducting individual and group peer recovery coaching, assisting clients in creating recovery and wellness plans, and linking them to housing, employment, and healthcare

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Active Certified Recovery Peer Advocate credential in good standing with NYCB or ASAP-NYCB.
• Minimum 1 year of peer support experience.
• Valid NYS driver’s license and ability to travel throughout Brooklyn.
• Familiarity with harm reduction and trauma-informed care.

• Support participants in developing person-centered Recovery and Wellness Plans.
• Assist peers in identifying and navigating barriers related to housing, employment, and healthcare access.
• Offer on-demand connections to recovery services and crisis support lines (e.g., OASAS HOPELine, OMH 988).
• Conduct mobile outreach as part of the NOW mobile unit.
• Engage individuals experiencing homelessness or public substance use, offering education and linkage to care.
